Who is Sarmad Gardezi?

One of the things I’m often asked is

“What is your story? How did you get started?”

My life story

I was born in Islamabad, Pakistan in 1997. At first, we struggled. However, because of my mom’s tenacious nature and my dad’s work ethic, I was able to live a middle-class lifestyle. In the age of 16, I started thinking about owning my own domain website. After using blogspot, I purchased sarmadgardezi.com in 2012 from my own savings.

Sarmad recently earned the title of Core Team Developer for Google Cloud Developers Expert for GSuite and Google Apps Script. I help our enterprise and small business clients at NP Digital with web development, paid campaigns, SEO, social media, and content marketing.

How I Work

I work with companies and agencies around the world, building web user interfaces, design systems, and digital products with a focus on responsive design, accessibility, performance, and cutting-edge tech. I’ve worked with teams at companies like ProPakistani, ViralWebbs, Khan Academy, Bosch, and more.
I consider myself a technologist at heart who wants to create stuff. In my own words, “Technology is my life. I’m always thinking about it, even when I’m taking a shower. It helps us become more productive and knowledgeable.” I’ve always enjoyed building (Google Scripts).

Blogging has given me so much more than money. It’s given me a sense of freedom that I didn’t know was possible. Now, I live a “free” lifestyle where I travel around Pakistan and blog from anywhere. I used to be an introvert, but now I speak in front of hundreds of people at events and seminars. I became a Core team member of Google Developers Group and earned recognition as a developer.
